The Journey of a Thousand Miles Begins with a Single Step.

At this point you should have completed the Onboarding IntakeCoaching Agreement, and Informed Consent.

I don't want it to just be a "waiting game" from here until your first session though. In fact--it's important that we don't just sit and wait. I know that the gears are already turning in your head as you think about what you might expect health coaching to be like, what you hope to accomplish through this investment in yourself, and what outcomes you can achieve by the end of your coaching package. In order to put that momentum and excitement to good use, I want to intentionally direct your thinking towards a specific mental activity between now our first session.

Here's Your Assignment: Your Ideal Vision of Health & Wellness

Spend a bit of time thinking about your "Ideal Vision of Health & Wellness." In other words--what would your life look like if you had unlimited willpower and the ability to accomplish every one of your health and wellness related goals? What would that "Ideal Vision of Health & Wellness" look like to you? How would you feel? What would you look like? What would that version of yourself do with their day? What kinds of things would that person prioritize on a day-to-day basis?

Additionally, I want you to think about what's stopping you today from becoming that version of yourself. What real-world obstacles are standing in your way of becoming the greatest version of yourself that you could possibly become?

These are questions that I want you to seriously take time to think about before our first session--and plan on discussing them when we do meet. I can't promise that a health coaching package is going to magically turn you into a super-human who is impervious to all the challenges and temptations of life. But I can promise to work in the direction of that goal, and I believe that the first step in becoming your best self is allowing yourself to dream.

So that's your first assignment: Dream.

Spend 7-10 minutes thinking about your "Ideal Vision of Health & Wellness" and what that looks like to you. If you can, do it right now as you finish reading this page. Take out a pen and paper. Write some notes as you think it over or record a video about it on your phone. When we have our first meeting this thought-activity will serve as a good springboard into goal setting and agenda mapping that will take place in our first session.

I really look forward to meeting with you for your Initial Onboarding Session! Bring your notes from this activity to that meeting, and also bring a sense of excitement, a willingness to be vulnerable, and a belief in your ability to change for the better. Let these first steps lead you into your own metaphorical journey of a thousand miles.
